Jon Richards, founder of Wildcat Steel, has been in the steel fabrication industry for over 40 years. His extensive knowledge and experience in the industry has influenced the success of Wildcat Steel & Fabricating. In 1979 he founded a company called Salt Shaker Welding, which specialized in fabricating tuna towers for boats. After selling the company in 1982, Jon went on to start a new company, called Liberty Steel. The company focused on the fabrication of structural steel, plant and steel mill shut downs and maintenance. In addition, Jon and his company worked in the oil fields, pipe-lining and rig repair.
In 1996, Jon started Wildcat Steel, a company that is driven by and modeled after the values of the United States Marine Corps. As a former Marine, Jon instills Semper Fi, dependability and pride in all aspects of his job. His loyalty, integrity and dedication to Wildcat Steel, has enabled the company to thrive in the steel fabrication and erection industry.
Joe LaRiche, Operations Manager
Joe LaRiche, Wildcat Steel & Fabricating LLC’s operations manager, first got his start in the construction industry back in 1990. In 1997 Joe graduated from Lincoln Welding School, and began working as a fabricator as well as repairing heavy equipment, trailers, backhoes and dozers.
Joe’s motivation and eagerness to succeed inspired him to join the Marine Corps in 2002, as a structural mechanic for F-18 fighter jets. While serving time in the USMC, Joe became a certified aircraft welder. In 2007, Joe left the USMC to be closer to his family, and has since been in the structural steel fabrication business. His honesty, professional service and drive makes Joe a valuable asset to our company.

Bobby Miller, Field Superintendent
Bobby Miller first started in the iron industry in Northeast New Jersey back in 1984. His career led him to work as an iron worker on high rise buildings, and then he quickly learned to operate equipment. Bobby’s experience includes operating 10 ton – 150 ton cranes, forklifts and overhead cranes. In the 1990’s, Bobby moved to Hilton Head Island where he became a supervisor of a large construction company. Since then, Bobby has owned and operated his own construction company, focusing on commercial construction and residential projects.
In recent years, Bobby has expanded his knowledge and expertise in aerated block building systems, bridge erection and repair, multi-story structural buildings, and tilt-up walls. Additionally, he is excellent at problem solving and customer service, as well as knowledgeable with blueprints. His work motto is work hard, or go home.
Brian Trimmer, Fabrication Shop Manager
Brian, a South Carolina native, started his welding career right after high school graduation with a company that specializes in the fabrication, welding and installation of decorative gates. From there he moved onto repairing trailers and jockey trucks which included close work with the engineers to create a simplified repairing process. Brian brought his knowledge of intricate welding, tacking and repairing to Wildcat Steel in 2009.
Since Brian came to Wildcat Steel he has completed multiple welding certificates and safety training courses to be able to lead a team efficiently and safely. Brian has been the shop manager at Wildcat for several years. He uses his expertise to lead a team in any project small or big from start to finish. Brian's professionalism, drive, and problem-solving skills makes him a valued Wildcatter.
Pam LaRiche, Office Administrator
Pam, Office Administrator, was born and raised in New Jersey. She earned her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Radiological Technology and has worked the past 8 years as a Radiologic Technologist in the Low Country. Pam’s expertise goes farther than the medical field, though, with her prior experience in customer service and her outstanding management skills.
Recently, Pam has completed multiple college financial courses and is ready to use her knowledge and past experience to take on her new position as Office Administrator. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, gardening, organizing, and spending time with her family. Pam’s smile, dedication, and positive attitude make her a great addition to the Wildcat family.
